Hi, I’m Stu, Contracts Manager at Leaves.
I first started Leaves on finishing school, having realised that I wanted to work in the Construction Industry.
I started as an Apprentice Labourer, completing a two year, Level 2 NVQ whilst continuing to work on site, and feeling an integral part of the Leaves’ team. Having finished this Apprenticeship, I decided to focus on Carpentry, and Leaves supported me to complete my NVQ Level 3. I continued with Carpentry as my focus for several years, before moving to become a Site Foreman/Supervisor and completing several courses, including my SMSTS.
I’ve now been with the company for 12 years and have always enjoyed the opportunities given to me through Leaves. Now, I have moved into the Office, taking on a Site Manager role. No two days are the same, I can be organising jobs, running teams of Contractors, and managing a range of Site Supervisors.
What sets Leaves apart is its ongoing learning and development. Want to specialise? No problem! Want to move into management roles? You’ll be supported. For example, I’m currently completing my IOSH course, having completed several courses over the years, including PASMA, Advanced Asbestos Awareness and First Aid- to name a few.
What’s next for me? I’m looking to expand my knowledge, build on efficient working procedures and ensure projects continue to be completed on time. I’m working on existing and new client relations, bringing modern work ethics and standards into Leaves- I truly have a voice, and feel that my ideas and aspirations are valued.
